1st day
BRESCIA
Arrival of participants and accommodation at the Paul VI Pastoral Centre, in the historic center of Brescia. Meeting with the guide and walk for visiting the Roman Archaeological Park (outside) and guided tour of the museum of S. Giulia, set up in a monastic complex erected in the 8th century by the last Lombard king Desiderio. The museum, UNESCO site, houses inside the Domus dell'Ortaglia, two beautiful Roman houses brought to light in 2000 and a collection of works of art from different historical periods including the famous Winged Victory, symbol of the city and the cross of Desiderio, a masterpiece of medieval jewelry. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon meeting with the guide and walking visit to the Old Cathedral, also known as the Rotonda for its circular shape, a splendid example of Romanesque architecture, and the adjacent New Cathedral, both located on Piazza Paul VI. Continue on foot to the Sanctuary of Graces, a place very dear to Pope Montini where there is kept a relic of his. Guided tour and possibility of celebrating Holy Mass. Return to Paul VI Pastoral Centre. Dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day
BRESCIA - CONCESIO - BRESCIA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Concesio, birthplace of St.Paul VI. Guided tour of the birthplace. Follow guided tour of the parish church with the baptistery with the possibility of celebrating Holy Mass. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon guided tour of the Museum of Contemporary Art where paintings, prints, sculptures of the twentieth century belonging to St. Paul VI are collected. Then continue to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Star, located in a privileged position on a hill and place very dear to St. Paul VI. Departure for the return.
